This film is the story of eight teenagers who come together in Ojai to share their families' oral histories. The question they ask of themselves and one another is: How do we become Americans? What emerges is a tapestry of astonishing diversity, from slavery to genocide to patriotism and pride. Ultimately, these kids find strength in each others' stories as they struggle toward a common ground, and a place of hope for the future.
